About Us

VMT Software was started in 1989. We spent 6 months writing our first software, Video Shoppe, a program for Video Stores.

In 1991 we went national with our POS software Video Shoppe.

1995 we wrote and started to market Sportsman's manager, a DOS program for fishing and hunting.

We wrote a lot of different programs, trucking, child care, travel agency software and our contact management software, Prospector.

In 2000 we came out with Windows versions of all our software. 

2006 was a good year for Fishing Software!

Fly Assistant was born in 2006. Using the Windows based Sportsman's Manager base the program was tailored to the fly fishing person. 

Benefits to the program are vast, but I like knowing what I have and where it is! This is a great inventory program for the home if you wanted to use it for that. 

The swap features were added as I began to tie more and more flies. Since being in all the swaps I joined my fly fishing club invited me to tie for the club. I guess practice makes better really works!

2006 was also the year our work order software was tailored to the Rod Builders. This is a great program, it really takes care of all the needs of someone that makes and sells rods.
